Beauty for ashes

I was new in Bangalore and was looking for a church where I could go to. As I stepped into one I heard the pastor read out loud from the Bible . 

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendour.”[ Luke 4:18-19 / Isaiah 61:1-4]

These verses were new to me but it stirred up something inside me . Looked like these verses were meant for my ears only as it brought me immense healing and comfort . When the second time it was spoken again at another occasion I really grabbed it and sought God to bring complete restoration in my life. 

Many of us would have had situations or are in situations that need healing , breakthroughs or supernatural interventions .

The one who made the blind to see , made the lame to leap , dead to rise , is still doing miracles in our midst . When I am down and tired my boy walks up puts his hands on me and says a simple prayer- Lord heal my mama ♥️. I just love that moment .Child like faith and innocence is all we need . Stretch out your hand to your friend or family member and decree that healing and restoration in faith 🙏

Do we need to take that leap of faith and step out from our rocking boats caught in the storms or mundane situations of our lives ? Jesus is reaching out to you and to me . Step out in faith and walk on water just as Peter did. Fear of sinking may cripple you but as He held Peter and kept him from sinking , He will reach out and lift us up . Just remember not to take your gaze off Him . Walk into freedom today from your prisons of fear , anguish and turmoil . As they have no room or place in your life . For Christ has come to set you and me free ( John 8:36)

The crown of beauty instead of ashes is a line that I simply love . It’s not the Miss World title that we are talking about .  It’s a crown that He can crown us with His love when we become His sons and daughters.  When we are His we become heirs and heiress in His kingdom. That’s the kind of kingdom culture we are taking of.  He will crown you with His love, His righteousness and compassion . He will prepare a table for you in the presence of your enemies and anoint your head with oil of gladness and joy until it overflows (Psalm 23-5). We can be more than conquerors in Him ( Romans 8:37) and we can rise up from the ashes . Many of us  can boldly say 'He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings - Psalm 40:2


So face this day , this life and put on your crown 👑  , your garment of praise and walk this world with Me - Says our saviour

Couple of my watches required battery replacement …. but oufff the price in this region to change the battery can be more expensive than buying a new watch 🫠 However we figured out the place where we could get original batteries at half price and with a guarantee for 2 years .. woooo that was amazing .  The watch repairer was a very unassuming person who took his tools and carefully opened the side of the watch where the battery had to be replaced.  And boy the insides of the watch looked so amazing … intricately done and it needed someone with precision and understanding to get the watch working again . The wrong pin 🙃

All excited for our ladies day out , I headed to meet my friend for a time of fun and gastronomic treats . I followed the location pin she shared with me and once I heard “ you have arrived, your destination is to your right "  very expectantly I stepped out but to my utter disappointment could not locate the building where my friend lived. I argued with the security that the building should be somewhere around and that he might not be aware 🫢.  However when I called my friend she agreed to have made the mistake of sending me the location pin of her office instead of the residence pin 📌 🙆‍♀️. Humbled and apologising to the security I now had to reroute and drive to the right address being behind our schedule by 45 mins .   Putting things into perspective and applying this into life , how often do we blindly follow people , ideas , religion, and end up in places and situations that we least expect.   How is it we are so blind to the fact that there is only one TRUT...

2 Corinthians   2:15   One Sunday morning on one of my metro rides in Delhi , I got super impressed when I saw a young gentleman(non Indian) carrying a big Bible with him . During our very short conversation he told me that he is new in Delhi and still figuring out a church to go to . I was happy to help and decided to give him my number when he asked me for the same.   However this was a bad decision. Despite him knowing that I have a family he started   to bother me with unwanted calls . It was getting too much that my husband had to intervene. He was upset that I trusted a stranger with my number. However I got easily misled by the big Bible that he was carrying and thought he would be a fine gentleman! Must say this incident left me to be more wiser and discerning. Carrying a Bible does not mean that we carry Christ like qualities in us . Christ like qualities translate into actions .
