What’s your life situations speaking to you ?
Driving in Delhi is definitely a great and overwhelming experience. With cows, dogs, humans crossing a busy road, our very best comes to the forefront coupled with a few flowery phrases. Amidst all of this one needs to be even reminded where ones headed to and be realigned to the course of one's destination.
I have been told that if one has driven in Delhi then you can drive anywhere in the world !!!!
After driving for 15 good years and acing it with a degree in obstacle race -driving in the Middle East was a different ball game.
The toughest of it was trying to unlearn what I had learnt before,to let go of my ego and learn driving right from the scratch as a new driver.
Though getting my license gave me a high the thought of driving here made me edgy. Fast lanes , high speeds , speed cameras, unfamiliar roads , stringent rules made me nervous . However in all this I learnt quite a bit !
Have you allowed the Holy Spirit to speak to you in your life situations ?
Humility and being open to correction are so important no matter how good we think we might be in any area of our lives. In our spiritual walk there is a lot to unlearn and learn. We need to start as a child and be fed with milk first and then with solids[ 1 Corinthians 3-2]
When I have had unfamiliar terrains and roads to go instead of being anxious I followed the directions as given in the GPS. Is our life not the same ? Unfamiliar ways , new people that crosses our paths , difficult situations and trials to negotiate ! Don’t we have the GPS that Jesus has given us as a parting gift ,His HS ( Holy Spirit ). If you allow Him then He will be our comforter, our counsellor, our strength (John14:26).
The rear view mirrors are there only to give us a perspective of what’s behind and not to intimidate us or to be blinded by the headlights . Similarly in our life we may be reminded of what is now behind us . Instead of being blinded in anger, hatred or pain look ahead as new paths beckons us . Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland( Isaiah 43:18-19)
Sometimes to reach our destination soon we forget to follow the signs or speed limits and we get a hefty price to pay end of the month. Similarly in life we try to bend the rules and tweak it a bit to suit our convenience. However at the end of our life we will have an irreversible or irrevocable fine to pay .For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord( Romans 6:23)
God has set before us life and death, blessings and curses. Choose life today so that the blessings of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob can come upon your life Deuteronomy 30:19-20
However with the confidence I have found in driving here in this part of the world my husband reminds me that overconfidence too is not very good and it’s definitely not wise to live life on the edge 😃
A beautiful thought mini.
