Rise above your storms , be renewed !

Isaiah 40:31 

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. 

One weekend we were trying to decode a video clip that my son was given as his English homework. We watched the clip as a family and decided to bring in our own perspective to the table . It was a very interesting watch. 

The story from my perspective was of a man ( who looked very alienish ) and was journeying in space .

He had seen a  glimmering light in a distance to which he wanted to steer his space ship. Along with him was some treasures that he was carrying and also a dragon that was tied to the ship . Suddenly a storm starts raging . He and the space ship could have gotten destroyed . However he started discarding  the treasures he had hoarded and had no option but to released the dragon too . His space ship became more lighter and started propelling faster. He also strategically used the eye of the storm to rise up higher and finally reaches the glimmering light .

The eagle the main protagonist of my blog for today is also of a similar kind . When the storm rages she uses the wind to thrust herself to rise up and be above the storm - she is a “ storm rider “ !

The eagle has a very long life span of anything between 30-70 years . Average life span is 40 years . Around the age of 30-40 the beak becomes bent , the talons become non flexible and the old feathers becomes heavy. All of this are very crucial for the eagle in catching her prey that helps her to live longer.However to live long they fly to a mountain top and goes through a very painful process of rebirth . During this painful process of renewing which takes about five months the eagles knocks off its beak against a mountain top until it comes out . Then she waits for the beak to grow back after which it pulls out its talons. When the talons grows back , it plucks off it’s old feathers .  Once the feathers are back, the eagle then takes its famous flight after this rebirth and can now live for 30 odd more years. 

Eagles are dauntless ( they look at the enemy in the eye ), they are tenacious, nurturing , loyal , vitality, and go only after active things .This will give us a perspective of why in the Bible there is a constant reference to us and the Eagles .

I was wondering why I had to share the story of the man caught in the storm and also the story of the eagle in the same blog . I kept thinking of it and the learning I got of the two is that we need to discard the old habits and characteristics in our life.  We need to press on ahead to our final goal and that is none other than Christ . We need to pluck out our pride , our bitterness, our egos , our anger , our envy and everything that we hold on to so that not only can we be renewed but we can move ahead . When we throw off every baggage that we are carrying from the past, when we release the dragon like character that only spews fire when we speak, when we renew our mind and start thinking right , when we rise above every storm and challenges that comes our way and be focused on our one purpose in life then every thing else falls into place.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”( 2 Corinthians 5:17)
