Be still, and know that I am God [ Psalm 46: 10 ]

Being still was not something in my dictionary for a very long time . 

When I look back to my growing up years I was the one who would not be quiet at home or in class . I was always mischievous and daring and always ended up getting pulled up or getting hurt and at times landed up with critical injuries . My dad used to be so anxious if there was a call from my school or home while he was at work as invariably I would have ended up hurting myself and had to be rushed to hospital . However when I transitioned from school to college, I was a more mellowed down person - Thankfully !!!

In my initial spiritual walk too , the fact of being still was missing for a very long time . Always anxious, fretting, burdened and worried when I was faced with difficult and trying situations. 

During one very trying time and left with no option I started having a monologue with God - “ Lord you said that - cast every burden on me and I will give you rest - [ Mathew 11-28]! Lord this burden that I am carrying is too much to carry ! I am tired , I am faint and can’t move forward with the weight on my shoulders. If your word is true and if it really means that I can cast my burden on to you then please remove this weight I am carrying “ . This was like my outcry and my ‘me time’ with God . 

And lo and behold, it would be an exaggeration if I said that my problems disappeared and I saw a dramatic change in the situation- but I speak nothing but the truth when I say that a peace and joy that transcended  all understanding just filled me up . There was no more fear and no more weight that I was carrying it just vanished- Voila - what did just happen ?

My problems did not change in an instant but my God gave me the ability to go through it with strength and peace and slowly but surely He took me out of it too .

All that I needed to do was to BE STILL in His presence and not try hard by myself in turning the situation around . The only thing that I did different was experiment with the truth that is in the Bible. 

Would encourage each one of us to go ahead and claim all the verses and speak them into your life situations ! If you have a situation in your relationship, finances , work place , in your family ,with your health, then its highly recommended that you look into the Bible and find an apt verse that can BRING LIFE  into your situation . 

You don’t have to fight back , you don’t have to struggle , you don’t have to repay back in double measure to that person who hurt you . Just lay it down . Come with a contrite heart with prayers and supplications and just BE STILL. Cause the Bible says 'not by might , not by power but by my spirit'- sayeth the Lord [ Zechariah 4:6].

Dont mistake the verse of being still by being still literally !!  But in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God ! Philippians 4:6

Couple of my watches required battery replacement …. but oufff the price in this region to change the battery can be more expensive than buying a new watch 🫠 However we figured out the place where we could get original batteries at half price and with a guarantee for 2 years .. woooo that was amazing .  The watch repairer was a very unassuming person who took his tools and carefully opened the side of the watch where the battery had to be replaced.  And boy the insides of the watch looked so amazing … intricately done and it needed someone with precision and understanding to get the watch working again . The wrong pin 🙃

All excited for our ladies day out , I headed to meet my friend for a time of fun and gastronomic treats . I followed the location pin she shared with me and once I heard “ you have arrived, your destination is to your right "  very expectantly I stepped out but to my utter disappointment could not locate the building where my friend lived. I argued with the security that the building should be somewhere around and that he might not be aware 🫢.  However when I called my friend she agreed to have made the mistake of sending me the location pin of her office instead of the residence pin 📌 🙆‍♀️. Humbled and apologising to the security I now had to reroute and drive to the right address being behind our schedule by 45 mins .   Putting things into perspective and applying this into life , how often do we blindly follow people , ideas , religion, and end up in places and situations that we least expect.   How is it we are so blind to the fact that there is only one TRUT...

2 Corinthians   2:15   One Sunday morning on one of my metro rides in Delhi , I got super impressed when I saw a young gentleman(non Indian) carrying a big Bible with him . During our very short conversation he told me that he is new in Delhi and still figuring out a church to go to . I was happy to help and decided to give him my number when he asked me for the same.   However this was a bad decision. Despite him knowing that I have a family he started   to bother me with unwanted calls . It was getting too much that my husband had to intervene. He was upset that I trusted a stranger with my number. However I got easily misled by the big Bible that he was carrying and thought he would be a fine gentleman! Must say this incident left me to be more wiser and discerning. Carrying a Bible does not mean that we carry Christ like qualities in us . Christ like qualities translate into actions .
