Judge not , say’s - My Lord
We are so quick to judge others, speak about others, gossip about others, malign others and pull them down at every single given opportunity. Why ?
Such kind of conversations steal the show and some of us thrive on it .It gives us a high and we really enjoy every conversations where someone is the butt of our ridicule. Specially if that person has not made it to the party or is not around then we leave no stone unturned to speak all possible things and derive that fun and laughter on that persons behalf .
Been there done that .
But God is so categorical when He says that -Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen-Ephesians 4:29
So next time we speak about others let this verse just pop up in our minds and let’s put a check or a guard on our lips before we speak ill about anyone .
After all Christ never condemns us. He has come to set the captives free, the sinners free and to save the weak from perishing .
Let’s also not be quick to judge others . Sometimes we are so judgemental and opinionated and don’t give people a benefit of our doubt .“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”Matthew 7:1-2
Sometimes our judgements overshadows someone else’s point of view too . We speak so negatively about a person that our friends too look at that person in the same way without even giving a chance for that person to prove herself/himself. We take the liberty to have the last say in someone else’s character.
So let’s first take out the plank in our own eye than focus on the speck in someone else’s eyes . Matthew 7:4
Like the Psalmist says in Psalms 133:1 “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!”
Wow that would be like a dream world to live in - this can become a reality if we do not confirm to the patterns of this world but be transformed by the renewing of our mind. Romans 12:2
Amen 🙏🏼
