When do you cower behind a sofa ?

 

I hit the pause button on my blogs ✍️ as there were so much of spiritual manna already with zooms classes and Bible study meetings happening during this time. But yes , like someone rightly said "even if one message touches one soul the joy is manifold" ! 

So coming to today’s blog , it’s about our sweet little pup- Coffee. So grab yourself a cuppa coffee and read on -

Coffee loves me to bits and she knows that the feeling is mutual💜.However she also knows that when she does some mischief then I am at her case . 

Despite we getting her toys to chew on she loves chewing into our carpets and slippers . She knows that’s a big NO and when she figures out that her mischief is exposed, she runs and cowers behind our sofa . 

Net net she has to be in her naughty corner with no exchange of pleasantries from either parties at least for an hour. 

She really understands her time out well and when I go to release her from the corner she leaps in joy and she is all waggly waggly . The smile on my face speaks volumes and we are back to being friends . 

How different or similar are our life situations? We as humans make mistakes, we fall , we err , we stumble , like to disobey, do the forbidden - but is that enough reason to hide away and cower [ like Adam & Eve] ? 

Some of us make mistakes but the ego that we carry don’t allow us to accept our mistakes ! We feel we are the beginning and end of perfection and we can never be wrong . 

These two scenarios, believe me are not the best places to be in !! 

Humility, re-alignment, integrity, accountability for our actions, a teachable heart and spirit , a contrite heart , obedience is all that God is looking for . 

Let’s see what the Bible has to say about discipline-

“My son , do not make light of the Lord's discipline , and do not lose heart when He rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and He chastens everyone He accepts as His son.” Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father?”Hebrews 12:6-7 NIV

Don’t hide away , don’t wallow in self condemnation, in self pity . Acknowledging your mistakes is in itself a big step in the right direction . So what’s stopping you and me to take that step ? Remember time is too short. 

God is our restorer . He will embrace you back with grace and dignity . He keeps no record of our sins . He came to the world to seek the sinners , the unrighteous , He came for the lost and weary and the Bible validates this truth -

“Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”Luke 5

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”
