My Cuckoo clock and the cuckoo man 

I always dreamed of owning a cuckoo clock and I was fortunate enough to pick an authentic one from Germany,its place of origin. A beautiful and intricate piece of pure craftsmanship,  the clock worked very well until our bundle of joy arrived . It amused him so much that he used to gaze at it just to see the cuckoo come out of her cute fancy little window. However one fine day he pulled the winding chains so hard that it  came crashing down. To our good luck and the grace of Almighty the clock did not fall on him nor did the clock break . 

But in the light of what happened we decided not to use the clock for couple of years . When we finally took it out ,it had accumulated dirt and grime . I took it to the shopping arcade in Gurgaon ( India )to get it repaired. The shop owner quoted a price and I agreed to it . I asked him for a receipt and he said that his word was good enough. He appeared to be busy and me asking for a receipt again prompted him to ask me if I did not trust him enough ? 

As I returned back in a few days, I was happy to see my clock working again . I paid him his dues but he switched claims and mentioned that we had agreed on a much higher price. He started to demand an amount which was 6 times higher

(exceeded the cost of the clock). I however paid him twice the amount he had initially quoted and in the midst of all the accusations , I managed to take the clock and get back home . 

This person started to call me and threaten me with weird consequences . He kind of irked me beyond words and it looked like he turned out to be a cuckoo himself .  I had to block his number as he went on to call me several times and also send unnecessary messages. I could not sleep well that night as he had managed to get me scared . I should have smelt a rat when he refused to give me  a receipt in the first place itself. Belief in people this time backfired bigtime and I blame myself for having trusted him . This experience taught me a lesson on being more cautious and discerning .

We always need wisdom and discernment that can lead us in the right direction. God gives that to us beyond measure if we ask him 

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.” James 1:5-6 NIV

Having Godly wisdom and understanding will help us in every area of our lives . It will also “Keep me safe from the traps set by evildoers, from the snares they have laid for me” Psalms‬ ‭141:9-10‬ ‭NIV‬‬. It will help us in walking in safety !
