To leave cleave and weave !
December 2019 was truly a joyous time in many ways . Christmas, family visiting and the wedding of our dear cousin . The wedding brought many of our loved ones together and felt so happy just reconnecting with our roots back home .
The wedding day was beautiful and the bride and groom looked super gorgeous. The message that the priest shared that day was so beautiful that I thought I should share it here [ dont worry , it's not going to be a sermon but in a nutshell ]
Obviously the theme was on marriage . It had three parts to it
Altar : Every marriage would have an altar which is symbolic of sacrifices that has to be made . It’s a relationship of giving and being selfless .
Candle : The priest drew an analogy between marriage and a candle . A candle brings light but in the process burns out slowly. Similarly we die to our own needs and look out for the other and bring light and joy to the other .
The couple needs support not interference: Once a couple is united in marriage they are considered responsible enough to start a life together. As much as family, friends and loved ones matter and are integral part to the couple's lives , what would be the best thing to do would be to support the couple and not interfere in their lives.
Lastly at the reception the MC wound the evening with these words-Marriage is to leave , cleave and weave !!
Marriage would mean to leave your parents ,cleave with your spouse and weave Christ into the center of the marriage . If this is done and if you have Christ in the center of your life and marriage it would be a sure recipe for a successful marriage ♥️
“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
Matthew 19:5-6
Genesis 2 : 24
