Crushing = whining ? Crushing = Wine ! Crushing = Character !

There are seasons and times in our life when we feel so crushed and pressed . We feel so low that we can touch the ground and wallow in self pity . Why is life unfair? The whining list can be endless ! 

We always forget that it’s only in the crushing we have the best of wine ,in the furnace and refining we get the beautiful gold jewellery  , in the moulding and prodding  and heating we get beautiful vessels or jars of clay . 

Grapes 🍇 have to go through 5 stages before it reaches the wine 🍷 stage . Harvesting, crushing&pressing, fermentation , clarification & ageing and bottling.

While harvesting the good grapes are segregated and the unripe and rotten ones are thrown away . Then the good grapes goes through a process of crushing and pressing . Followed by a process of fermentation until all the sugar is converted into alcohol and the wine is produced . The next process is clarification where in the wine is transferred to oak barrels and a filtration process is underway. The last of the process is ageing and bottling . 

Abraham , Jacob , Joseph and many people as seen in the Bible went through a time of crushing . But the beauty lies in the fact that each one of them became so perfect in the hands of God. They have become testimonies and we too can become testimonies and testify as suffering produces perseverance , perseverance character , and character hope. Because our hope is from God.  As He has poured out His love to us through the Holy Spirit that He has given us [ Romans 5:3-5]

The wine tastes better as it clarifies and ages . Just like us, we become better individuals when all the muck and unwanted things are removed from us and as we grow in the knowledge and wisdom of God .

If we are submissive , God can change our lives . Sometimes it can be a process and take a long time before we can be fully transformed and need ageing or we can be changed like water to wine in a jiffy like at the wedding in Cana .Just like Saul to Paul as we see in the book of ACTS ! 

Like the grapes, during judgment day we will be seperated , the good from the bad. Many are called but only few are chosen [ Matthew 22: 14]!

If you are being crushed -let it produce Character- and let that Character reflect the character of our saviour CHRIST JESUS  💚💙🧡

Couple of my watches required battery replacement …. but oufff the price in this region to change the battery can be more expensive than buying a new watch 🫠 However we figured out the place where we could get original batteries at half price and with a guarantee for 2 years .. woooo that was amazing .  The watch repairer was a very unassuming person who took his tools and carefully opened the side of the watch where the battery had to be replaced.  And boy the insides of the watch looked so amazing … intricately done and it needed someone with precision and understanding to get the watch working again . The wrong pin 🙃

All excited for our ladies day out , I headed to meet my friend for a time of fun and gastronomic treats . I followed the location pin she shared with me and once I heard “ you have arrived, your destination is to your right "  very expectantly I stepped out but to my utter disappointment could not locate the building where my friend lived. I argued with the security that the building should be somewhere around and that he might not be aware 🫢.  However when I called my friend she agreed to have made the mistake of sending me the location pin of her office instead of the residence pin 📌 🙆‍♀️. Humbled and apologising to the security I now had to reroute and drive to the right address being behind our schedule by 45 mins .   Putting things into perspective and applying this into life , how often do we blindly follow people , ideas , religion, and end up in places and situations that we least expect.   How is it we are so blind to the fact that there is only one TRUT...

2 Corinthians   2:15   One Sunday morning on one of my metro rides in Delhi , I got super impressed when I saw a young gentleman(non Indian) carrying a big Bible with him . During our very short conversation he told me that he is new in Delhi and still figuring out a church to go to . I was happy to help and decided to give him my number when he asked me for the same.   However this was a bad decision. Despite him knowing that I have a family he started   to bother me with unwanted calls . It was getting too much that my husband had to intervene. He was upset that I trusted a stranger with my number. However I got easily misled by the big Bible that he was carrying and thought he would be a fine gentleman! Must say this incident left me to be more wiser and discerning. Carrying a Bible does not mean that we carry Christ like qualities in us . Christ like qualities translate into actions .
