Do you believe in Prophecies ?

Washing my clothes on a stone slab [ as used to be done in India many years back] in a very humble hostel ,I got distracted with the sound of a plane which slowly disappeared into the vast sky . With a huge sigh I recalled a prophecy a friend told over my life. She had said that I would go places and God would make it happen in amazing ways . I truly believe what God can do but my situation then was very challenging. 

2 weeks into the prophecy our MD told that me and a dear colleague that we were selected to be a part of a familiarisation trip to Singapore . Our joy knew no limits. We ended up enjoying our very maiden international trip. 5 days in Singapore with stay in the best location with all sightseeings included and dining at the best restaurants with not a single penny spent from our pockets. 

The next holiday came beckoning in 10 months . And it truly is an exceptional testimony of sorts .Our travel company had hit upon this unique idea of promoting holidays by saying that for every long haul destination like - Europe and US that was booked, clients would be given a second holiday absolutely free. The second holiday however could be availed by the clients or gifted to anyone.

One evening I had an elderly couple who took an US tour come over to thank me for an overall great experience. They also said that they would want to proceed with the formalities for the next holiday . In the form for the next holiday they put my name on it and wanted to gift me with the holiday . 

I was so taken aback. I told him categorically that I cannot accept the same . I literally forced him to give it to his children or even to his neighbour for that matter but definitely not me . 

He said that it is his prerogative and his decision is final in this regard . I told him that I need to take an approval from my boss and I was so sure that he would say no . 

However when my boss heard this he told me that I should take the papers before they changes their mind 😁

Net net I got a 3 days cruise on one of the best cruise liners with return air tickets for two . During that holiday the suppliers with whom I closely worked with gave me 4 nights stay each in Singapore and Malaysia all FOC [free of cost].

A year later when I took up a job in Dubai [within two months into my job] I got selected to go on a 9 days Mediterranean cruise . Wow that was again another magical holiday . Again all paid for and a daily allowance to go on a holiday.

My lists can go on but looking back I cannot but thank God for making it all happen for me in the most amazing ways. I definitely am not boasting here but just want to say how everything came to pass and became a reality . I had no means to visit these places many years back . But it became true just as it was prophesied over me . Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,” Ephesians 3:20 

Like most of us , I also had some very difficult situations to negotiate along the way too . But they have all brought me closer to Christ . 

So - ‘’Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good,”1 Thessalonians 5:20-21

Couple of my watches required battery replacement …. but oufff the price in this region to change the battery can be more expensive than buying a new watch 🫠 However we figured out the place where we could get original batteries at half price and with a guarantee for 2 years .. woooo that was amazing .  The watch repairer was a very unassuming person who took his tools and carefully opened the side of the watch where the battery had to be replaced.  And boy the insides of the watch looked so amazing … intricately done and it needed someone with precision and understanding to get the watch working again . I AM NEW

I was in a bit of a hurry when I went to the local supermarket last week. The lady who was supposed to help me with packing the condiments & dips seemed to be from another planet . She looked lost , confused and irritable. I did not have much time to be able to deal with her mood swings.  However something caught my eye. There was a badge this lady was adorning which said “ I am new here". Well that explained it all !!! She was not able to understand things well and might still been trying to navigate her way through.  Suddenly my perspective changed and there was a paradigm shift.  I became more patient and kind towards her in my approach. I bought the things on the list and left the place wishing her all best in her new role ✨!!  I then thought to myself- wish I had a badge on me which would read  “ a sinner , saved by grace alone”, or “ bear with me as I am not perfect “, or “ extend me grace when I fall ” or “ forgive me, I do make mistakes”  May be if I had them on, thing

What’s your trigger

  When our little dachshund Coffee, was tiny and when we all had to step out , we had to keep her closed in the kitchen . The kitchen has three doors , so it was a bit of challenge to keep her in and have the doors  closed as she would dash out from the other. So we had to strategically close two doors and leave her in and shut the door on her. This was done only for three months period as we then had a help who became available full time. It is now four years and Coffee is also four + , but whenever a door is shut, specially the kitchen door she panics and gets fearful with the thought of being closed up again !! Most of us also get triggered when we are reminded of an event or situation in the past and we feel overwhelmed and fear takes over . It probably may be something we went through as a child or even in our growing up years or even as an adult .  Are we then called to be in that place of fear and anxiety and not move ahead in life ?
