Jesus is the reason for the season

Christmas is the most prettiest time of the year. Every place comes alive with  lights , carols , shopping , baking , stars , twinkling bulbs, misty mornings , crispy noons , lively evenings , roast turkeys , yummy puddings , Christmas trees, stockings with gifts, visits from family and friends and the lists can go on and on. Beyond any doubt an amazing time of the year. But in the midst of all the preparations and jubilations we forget the main reason why we celebrate Christmas. 

Mary and Joseph  , many years back were betrothed to be married . They were making plans for their big day. Just when everything was perfect , Mary had a visitation from an Angel asking her if she was willing to be part of God's plan for mankind . Mary was startled and amazed but gave her life into the very hands of her creator and agreed to be the mother of Jesus . She was willing to face the challenges that came with this responsibility. 

When Joseph got to know that Mary was pregnant his life came to a standstill . Joseph being a kind man and not wanting to disgrace Mary in public decided to call off the wedding. But  an angle appeared to Joseph in a dream and told him that the child Mary was carrying in her womb was Gods plan and that the child that will be born to them should be called Jesus . Thus Joseph and Mary humbly kept their own plans aside and willingly and meekly accepted to be the parents of Jesus .

Jesus too did not abhor the virgins womb !!! Jesus became willing to be born in the womb of an ordinary woman from a very ordinary back ground .  He trusted His Father and became obedient to the plans that His Father had for Him. 

Many times we end up getting disappointed when things don’t go as planned. Have we turned to God and sought His guidance in those circumstances ? Many a times He purposely put that turn of events in our life in order to fulfil the calling that He has for us [ Just like Joseph & Mary ].   

Christ too became obedient to the calling and purpose His Father had for Him.
He being God accepted to lead a life in the most humble surroundings . He did this because He and God the Father loved us . Jesus came to reconcile the lost world back to our creator and Heavenly Father . Our sins separated us from God. Jesus came to this world and became our perfect sacrifice so that we may live a life free from sin , captivity, bondages and infirmities. Jesus became the bridge that connected us back to God and the only way through which we enter into eternal life .  

Do we know of this saviour and son of God called Jesus ? Jesus gave up all that He had and became human , experiencing pain , anguish , betrayals , humiliations and also the most gruesome death . But true to His word Jesus rose again on the third day and turned around our life and out destiny . 

Where O death is your sting ?
Where O death is your Victory ?


So this Christmas let's  be 

C - Christ Centred 
H - Humble 
R - Righteous
I - Intensional 
S- Still
T - Trusting 
M - Mindful 
A - Aligned 
S - Selfless 

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace- Isaiah 9:6 


Christ Centered Christmas and  MERRY CHRISTMAS to one & all

Couple of my watches required battery replacement …. but oufff the price in this region to change the battery can be more expensive than buying a new watch 🫠 However we figured out the place where we could get original batteries at half price and with a guarantee for 2 years .. woooo that was amazing .  The watch repairer was a very unassuming person who took his tools and carefully opened the side of the watch where the battery had to be replaced.  And boy the insides of the watch looked so amazing … intricately done and it needed someone with precision and understanding to get the watch working again . He also cleaned the inside and reset the time, date and in few minutes my watch was working and looked as good as new with a little bit of cleanup too in the inside and outside !! I AM NEW

I was in a bit of a hurry when I went to the local supermarket last week. The lady who was supposed to help me with packing the condiments & dips seemed to be from another planet . She looked lost , confused and irritable. I did not have much time to be able to deal with her mood swings.  However something caught my eye. There was a badge this lady was adorning which said “ I am new here". Well that explained it all !!! She was not able to understand things well and might still been trying to navigate her way through.  Suddenly my perspective changed and there was a paradigm shift.  I became more patient and kind towards her in my approach. I bought the things on the list and left the place wishing her all best in her new role ✨!!  I then thought to myself- wish I had a badge on me which would read  “ a sinner , saved by grace alone”, or “ bear with me as I am not perfect “, or “ extend me grace when I fall ” or “ forgive me, I do make mistakes”  May be if I had them on, thing

What’s your trigger

  When our little dachshund Coffee, was tiny and when we all had to step out , we had to keep her closed in the kitchen . The kitchen has three doors , so it was a bit of challenge to keep her in and have the doors  closed as she would dash out from the other. So we had to strategically close two doors and leave her in and shut the door on her. This was done only for three months period as we then had a help who became available full time. It is now four years and Coffee is also four + , but whenever a door is shut, specially the kitchen door she panics and gets fearful with the thought of being closed up again !! Most of us also get triggered when we are reminded of an event or situation in the past and we feel overwhelmed and fear takes over . It probably may be something we went through as a child or even in our growing up years or even as an adult .  Are we then called to be in that place of fear and anxiety and not move ahead in life ?
