We all have friends who have been integral part of our lives . Those who have been with us through thick and thin . Who are our confidant , our succour, someone with whom we can be ourselves , who will show up when we need them the most , who is our best critic , someone who motivates us , someone whom we can trust unconditionally.   I have been blessed with many friends in every stages of my life and in every places that I have had the opportunity to reside.   Though there have been times when I have felt let down too. Things that I shared   which was not meant for everyone or for every ears been told to others without my knowledge. There is nothing like being let down by a friend or a confidant . I felt completely hurt and cheated . There was a breach in trust in friendship !!!   Many of us must have felt that way . People walking alongside but stabbing us on our back. I have had opportunities to gossip about this friend but I chose not to. Sometimes

In January 2017 we decided to visit Udaipur an exotic location in Rajasthan,India. My husband’s only condition was that we should drive down though the journey threatened to be a long one.  0530 am sharp in the car, belted up , we started with the drive. I was the standby Co-pilot and also in charge of inflight service[food, entertainment etc] . The roads were superb,the drive spectacular so we did not stop for a break and captain applied breaks only once we reached our destination. After nine hours of  non stop drive , once I got off the car I felt my knees and legs were swollen and hurting. The trip was really lovely but the nagging pain in the knees and legs kept troubling me . After we got back home the pain worsened and I could barely walk for two weeks.Post my check up, we got to know that I was developing arthritis. There was wear and tear to my cartilage and on my right knee there was one part where the bone was slightly caving in . This explained why my knees

Washing my clothes on a stone slab [ as used to be done in India many years back] in a very humble hostel ,I got distracted with the sound of a plane which slowly disappeared into the vast sky . With a huge sigh I recalled a prophecy a friend told over my life. She had said that I would go places and God would make it happen in amazing ways . I truly believe what God can do but my situation then was very challenging.  2 weeks into the prophecy our MD told that me and a dear colleague that we were selected to be a part of a familiarisation trip to Singapore . Our joy knew no limits. We ended up enjoying our very maiden international trip. 5 days in Singapore with stay in the best location with all sightseeings included and dining at the best restaurants with not a single penny spent from our pockets.   The next holiday came beckoning in 10 months . Maths and me are poles apart . If they say negative and negative is positive then I am positive and maths is negative . As in my dictionary we don’t attract in any way .   My dad was a tough taskmaster while teaching Maths . His cross questioning used to drive me to my wits end . One of his questions would be -what does 4+3 amount to . I would say it’s 7. He would then ask again -is it not 8 , how come you are very sure its 7 ? I used to be so hassled and say it’s 8 😃 .   Looking back I have a big laugh. I grew up to hate maths and managed to make it through in my boards and then it was goodbye to Maths after that . Ah but I spoke too soon . It has come to haunt me back as my son is in secondary and fortunately he knows it is not my cup of tea .
