She is worth far more than Rubies !

I have a fetish for costume jewellery and love to keep changing them so as to suit the outfit that I am wearing . On the other hand my hubby feels that I should stop putting on fake stuff and only wear original or genuine stuff . 

However with all the imitation jewellery being offered how can one really differentiate between what’s fake and what’s real ?? 

Similarly when it comes to people how do we really know the real from the fake, the good from the bad ? As all of us are so good at putting on masks that it becomes not only tough but next to impossible to really know the real person hiding behind the mask . 

The caption of the blog for today is taken from Proverbs 31 verses 10. Though the first half of the verse is highly debatable . It goes like this - A wife of noble character who can find ? She is worth far more than rubies . 

Our male friends in our friend circle always laughed and joked around this verse - a wife of noble character who can find ??? They would say- its indeed true ! And if one had to search high and low no such woman can ever be found- was their verdict. But we all know that men are also so good at tweaking and twisting things😅

In this era of jokes and forwards and spoofs being done on woman and their mindset its sometimes funny and appalling at the same time !  At Oxford the man who expressed peacefulness, happiness and calmness in a single sentence- "My wife is sleeping” not only won the competition but received standing ovation from the audience.

Jokes apart ,for all the married women out there , I would encourage us to read Proverbs 31: 10-31 and take hold of the same . It’s so signification and meaningful . To have a WIFE who can be like this woman as given in these verses would be every man’s dream ! 

How can we compare ourselves to this woman as mentioned in Proverbs 31 ? Are we worth more than rubies or are we after them ? Are we of noble character or are we demeaning  ? Does our husband have full confidence is us or do we let them down ? Do we bring him good ? Do we rise up early and provide food for the family  or do we just order in all the time ? Do we use our wealth wisely or are we spend thrifts  ? Is our husband respected at the city gates ? Are we clothed with strength and dignity  or do we adorn masks ? Do we speak with wisdom or do we bring discord ? Do we be trust in our own strengths and beauty or do we trust , fear and revere God ? 

I have erred many times , I have stumbled ,but I have learnt so much along the way . There is nothing like being humble and trusting God . Nothing like to learn from mistakes and to change , to seek the truth and to be free . To seek God for His wisdom and discernment and to rise up as a better person each time we fall.

Some verses that really strikes a chord from Proverbs 31 :

11- Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value 

12- She brings him good , not harm , all the days of her life 

20- She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hand to the needy 

25 - She is clothed with dignity ; she can laugh at the days to come 

27- She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness 

28- Her children arise and call her blessed ; her husband also, and he praises her

30- Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting ; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised [ icing on the cake ]

Christ alone is able to change us if we are willing to be submissive  . He is the refiners fire and  can change and consume every dross in us . So that we can be better individuals , better humans , better wives ! 

Let’s make this world a better place. 

We cannot stop the jokes on woman and wives that keep doing the rounds. But we can be the change and be better, stronger , sharper and perfect partner to our spouse !
