I AM NEW

Image
I was in a bit of a hurry when I went to the local supermarket last week. The lady who was supposed to help me with packing the condiments & dips seemed to be from another planet . She looked lost , confused and irritable. I did not have much time to be able to deal with her mood swings.  However something caught my eye. There was a badge this lady was adorning which said “ I am new here". Well that explained it all !!! She was not able to understand things well and might still been trying to navigate her way through.  Suddenly my perspective changed and there was a paradigm shift.  I became more patient and kind towards her in my approach. I bought the things on the list and left the place wishing her all best in her new role ✨!!  I then thought to myself- wish I had a badge on me which would read  “ a sinner , saved by grace alone”, or “ bear with me as I am not perfect “, or “ extend me grace when I fall ” or “ forgive me, I do make mistakes”  May be...

The Watch Repairer

Image
Couple of my watches required battery replacement …. but oufff the price in this region to change the battery can be more expensive than buying a new watch 🫠 However we figured out the place where we could get original batteries at half price and with a guarantee for 2 years .. woooo that was amazing .  The watch repairer was a very unassuming person who took his tools and carefully opened the side of the watch where the battery had to be replaced.  And boy the insides of the watch looked so amazing … intricately done and it needed someone with precision and understanding to get the watch working again . He also cleaned the inside and reset the time, date and in few minutes my watch was working and looked as good as new with a little bit of cleanup too in the inside and outside !! This got me thinking !! We have been made so wonderfully and crafted so intricately in the inside. When we come to the end of our resources or feel depleted within, come to the Maker. He calls us to...

What’s your trigger

Image
When our little dachshund Coffee, was tiny and when we all had to step out , we had to keep her closed in the kitchen . The kitchen has three doors , so it was a bit of challenge to keep her in and have the doors  closed as she would dash out from the other. So we had to strategically close two doors and leave her in and shut the door on her. This was done only for three months period as we then had a help who became available full time. It is now four years and Coffee is also four + , but whenever a door is shut, specially the kitchen door she panics and gets fearful with the thought of being closed up again !! Most of us also get triggered when we are reminded of an event or situation in the past and we feel overwhelmed and fear takes over . It probably may be something we went through as a child or even in our growing up years or even as an adult .  Are we then called to be in that place of fear and anxiety and not move ahead in life ? The answer is NO ! As believers...

The wrong pin πŸ™ƒ

Image
All excited for our ladies day out , I headed to meet my friend for a time of fun and gastronomic treats . I followed the location pin she shared with me and once I heard “ you have arrived, your destination is to your right "  very expectantly I stepped out but to my utter disappointment could not locate the building where my friend lived. I argued with the security that the building should be somewhere around and that he might not be aware 🫒.  However when I called my friend she agreed to have made the mistake of sending me the location pin of her office instead of the residence pin πŸ“Œ πŸ™†‍♀️. Humbled and apologising to the security I now had to reroute and drive to the right address being behind our schedule by 45 mins .   Putting things into perspective and applying this into life , how often do we blindly follow people , ideas , religion, and end up in places and situations that we least expect.   How is it we are so blind to the fact that there is only one TRUT...

A two way street

Image
I  am sure most of you can relate to this one - or may we be awakened to the fact that every relationship is a two way street . Be it in a marriage, between siblings, between friends , parents & children.. and the many other relationships that we have.   The fuel to keep every relationship alive is love and a one way relationship does not last long. It either dies down or burns out . It’s a struggle to keep the flame alive .  Though we have people say - you know what - though we have not been in touch, you have always been in my heart and in my thoughts. Probably that's a mutual love and understanding that is echoed in that relationship. In some relationship we see the expectation is one sided as it's a done thing and designed that way- is that so ?? Some relationship are a relationship of convenience !  Do you have friends or family who never stays in touch - and are you the one making all the effort ! Its then a one sided relationship ! ...

Our Promise keeper πŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ

Image
Our promise keeper   One day I got a call from a travel company ( precovid times ) saying that I am one of the lucky ones to be given a free holiday to go on a family vacation. Happiness could not be contained as I love to go on holidays and imagine going on a free one. My family alerted me by saying that there are no free lunches and much into this I realised that the whole thing was a scam . I was promised so much but all of it amounted to nothing as it was a gimmick for me to lock in money with them. A few months later I saw the name of this company in the news   as they   came under the scanner for fraud and for cheating many  people. An electronic device that we had picked up was given an years warranty . However a month back the device stopped working and as I called the company , I was told that they had shut shop . To my utter surprise in 24hrs the owner of the company visited our home and got the device working . I was totally flabbergasted . They totally st...

Pay back time !!!

Image
Have you had the opportunity to get back to someone who has treated you very poorly ? Well we recently had one golden opportunity  πŸ˜€πŸ˜¬ If you have been following my blogs , you would have come across a blog [ https://asksharereceive.blogspot.com/2019/09/what-kind-of-man-is-this-even-winds-and.html ] of how my son experienced bullying in school and later how things eased out for him.   Now listen to this ...few schools have returned to face to face classes. The kids in my son's class were each assigned with the name of a friend so as to be their “secret Santa” . And guess what ? My son got the privilege to be the secret Santa of one of the boys who bullied him the most. So when we got to know that it's 'HIM' we said in unison -“ it's payback time",   That definitely was a passing causal comment ! Whilst said in jest it was perhaps the best natural reaction to pay back in the same currency that we had received as we humans are so wired to respond in the same fas...
